Sonder Dahlias

A dahlia & flower field in Everton Park, Brisbane

Grown slow.
Picked at first light.

Sixty-something varieties on one suburban block — fresh stems, winter tuber drops, and mornings in the patch with the snips in your hand.

son·der noun

the realisation that each passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

Why the name

Every bloom that leaves this garden walks into someone else’s story.

This patch started as a few tubers in the corner of an Everton Park backyard and got thoroughly out of hand — the way the best things do. Now it’s rows of dinnerplates, balls and pompons, grown through the subtropical seasons by one very stubborn gardener.

Everything is cut the morning it leaves. Most of it you can come and cut yourself.

Real research behind the pretty demo

Two deep-dives compiled from Australian growers, farms and market data — which varieties actually sell, and how the money really works for a one-woman flower business in Brisbane.

Tuber drops sell out in a morning.

The list hears first. One email when the drop opens, one when the gates do. That’s it.
